Anju Patwardhan
Group Chief Innovation Officer, Standard Chartered Bank

Anju Patwardhan was appointed group chief innovation officer at Standard Chartered Bank in July 2015. She is responsible for shaping the bank’s strategic innovation agenda across its global network and through different business areas by harnessing a range of new technologies and rapidly advancing data science. Based in Singapore, she will be a member of Standard Chartered’s Technology and Operations Management Group reporting to group chief information officer Michael Gorriz. She will also oversee SC Studios, the bank’s innovation outpost strategically positioned in San Francisco to scout for the Silicon Valley’s latest technology trends and tap the dynamic start-up ecosystem. Patwardhan has more than 20 years of international financial services experience and has been acknowledged by many industry bodies. She is a Distinguished Fellow of the Singapore Institute of Banking and Finance and Fellow of the Sim Kee Boon Institute for Financial Economics at Singapore Management University.
