Mr. Kong Khoon Tan has been Chief Executive Officer and Group Managing Director of Hong Leong Bank Berhad since July 1, 2013. Mr. Tan serves as Senior Investment Consultant of DBS Capital Investment Ltd. He served as the Head of Consumer Banking Group at DBS Bank Ltd. from December 1, 2010 to April 15, 2013. Mr. Tan served as the Chief Executive Officer and President of Bank of Ayudhya Public Company Ltd. from March 8, 2007 to December 31, 2009. He served as Regional Head of Consumer Banking (Hong Kong & China) of Standard Chartered Bank since 2000. Mr. Tan served as the Head of Retail Banking and Wealth Management, Hong Kong and North East Asia at ANZ Bank. Prior to Standard Chartered Bank, he started his banking career with DBS Bank in Singapore in 1981 and has served some other leading financial institutions namely ABN Bank and Citibank and has 12 years of service in their Singapore and Hong Kong offices. His other experiences in financial services include priority banking, treasury, investment, and insurance business. Mr. Tan has been an Executive Director of Hong Leong Bank Berhad since July 1, 2013. He served as a Director of Network For Electronic Transfers (Singapore) Pte Ltd. Mr. Tan served as a Director of Bank of the Philippine Islands from August 2011 to October 17, 2012 and Bank of Ayudhya Public Company Ltd. from January 2007 to December 31, 2009. He holds Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Bishop’s University Canada, Executive Management Program for Bankers from Wharton School of Business & National University of Singapore and Advanced Management Program from Harvard Business School U.S.A.
