Megan McDonald currently serves as the global head of Debt Primary Markets at Standard Bank, South Africa. She joined Standard Bank in 2001 as a member of the Capital Markets team in the Global Markets division. Megan has been involved in the structuring and placement of over US$10 billion of transactions in the African debt capital markets including a number of first to market deals in the region. Megan was head of Standard Bank's securitisation team for a number of years and in 2010 was appointed head of Standard Bank's Structured Trade and Commodity Finance team which focuses on providing trade finance solutions to clients in key sectors on the African continent. Megan has structured and executed a number of structured trade finance transactions for major clients across various African countries including Zambia, Kenya, Ghana and Tanzania. In 2011, Megan was appointed Head of the Debt Primary Markets Group at Standard Bank which comprises the debt capital markets, securitisation and high yield businesses. Megan currently has responsibility for both the Debt Primary Markets and the Structured Trade and Commodity Finance teams at Standard Bank.
