Peter Wong is chief executive of the Hongkong and Shanghai Baning Corporation, HSBC’s Asia Pacific operations, and he is group managing director, a member of the group management board of HSBC, as well as chairman of HSBC China. Wong also serves on the boards of various HSBC divisions, such as HSBC Malaysia, HSBC Vietnam, and Hang Seng Bank. He joined HSBC in April 2005 as group general manager and executive director, Hong Kong and mainland China. Wong has 30 years of experience within the banking industry, and was chairman of the Hong Kong Association of Banks in 2001, 2004, 2006 and 2009. He is currently a member of the exchange fund advisory committee of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and president of the Hong Kong Institute of Bankers.
