Since October 2016, Mr. Zulkanain has served as the Chief Operating Officer at Affin Bank. Before joining Affin Bank, he held the esteemed position of Group Managing Director at Malaysian Electronic Payment System Sdn Bhd (MEPS) from 2011 to 2016, where he spearheaded transformative initiatives in the Malaysian and regional payment industry. Recognized as a leading figure and advocate for e-payment reforms, Mr. Zulkanain's leadership at MEPS garnered prestigious awards such as the CEPI Asia Leadership Award and the BrandLaureate Icon Leadership Award in 2015. His achievements include introducing pioneering initiatives like Malaysia’s first non-bank White Label MEPS ATMs and the Malaysian Chip Card Standard, along with modernizing cash management services under MEPS Currency. He has also been instrumental in elevating MEPS' profile through industry forums and accolades such as being listed in SUPERBRANDS Malaysia and receiving recognition for innovative payment initiatives at the CEPI Asia Awards 2015.
