Mr. Gong Cheng

Before joining Moody’s, Gong gained substantial experience in the public sector starting in 2010, with roles at institutions including the Bank for International Settlements, European Stability Mechanism, and Banque de France, France's central bank. His responsibilities encompassed leading initiatives and conducting research in areas such as green finance, Asian economies, crisis management, and sovereign debt. He actively participated in the Central Banks and Supervisors’ Network for Greening the Financial System, where he chaired working groups focused on green and transition finance, as well as central banks’ strategies for achieving net-zero investments. Gong earned a PhD in economics from Sciences Po Paris, along with master's degrees in finance and international political economy from Sciences Po Paris and the London School of Economics, respectively. His extensive research output covers a range of topics including the transition to net zero, climate finance, sovereign debt restructuring, and fiscal and monetary policies.
