Taalib Shaah, located in London, serves as the Group Chief Risk Officer at Barclays, overseeing the bank's risk profile and leading risk management efforts across the organization as a key member of the Group Executive Committee. Joining Barclays in 2014, he initially held the role of Chief Risk Officer for the Investment Bank before advancing to Chief Risk Officer for Barclays International in 2017, managing various sectors within the bank. Transitioning to his current position in October 2020, Shaah brings extensive experience from his time at Citigroup, where he held roles including Chief Risk Officer for Market Risk, Real Estate Credit, and Treasury. He also spent 17 years at Credit Suisse, encompassing diverse roles spanning risk and front-office functions, after beginning his career at Ernst and Young. Shaah holds an MA in Engineering Science and Economics from Oxford University and is a Chartered Accountant.
