Mr. Ang Swee Tian currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Singapore International Monetary Exchange (SIMEX). Mr. Tian was the former president of SGX, which he moulded into a preferred listing and capital-raising venue for Chinese enterprises. He was also instrumental in establishing SGX AsiaClear, the OTC clearing facility that started operations in 2006. At the end of his term as the President of SGX, he assumed the position of Senior Advisor of the exchange until the end of 2007. Prior to his distinguished career at SGX, he has served several departments of the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS). Mr. Tian serves as Chairman of Singapore Mercantile Exchange, a subsidiary of Financial Technologies (India). While newly appointed Chairman of SMX Ang Swee said, "Financial markets and commodity markets are very tightly coupled. The new exchange will add to the stature of Singapore as global financial centre and more investments will flow into Singapore, as it becomes one stop financial and trading hub". He serves as a Member of Advisory Board at Financial Technologies India Ltd. In March 2007, Mr. Tian became the first official from an Asian exchange to be inducted into the Futures Industry Association's Futures Hall of Fame, which was established to recognize and honour outstanding individuals for their contribution to the Futures & Options Industry.
