Bender worked for BB&T for over 15 years before the bank and SunTrust merged to form Truist Financial, which he eventually joined. He began as an analyst and worked his way up to leadership positions in lending, credit risk, consumer finance solutions, and enterprise operational services, eventually getting to his present position.
