Zhang Jianguo currently serves as vice chairman, executive director, and president of China Construction Bank, a post he has been at since October 2006. Prior to this, Zhang was vice chairman of the board of directors and president of Bank of Communications from May 2004 to July 2006, executive vice president of Bank of Communications from September 2001 to May 2004. From September 1984 to September 2001, Zhang served in several positions in Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, including as deputy general manager and general manager of the international banking department, deputy general manager of Tianjin Branch.
