Stuart Riley is Group Chief Information Officer (GCIO) at HSBC Holdings plc, a remit he has held since February 2024. As a member of the Group Operating Committee, he is responsible for spearheading HSBC’s global technology strategy, with a particular focus on data, innovation, and digital transformation. Prior to joining HSBC, Stuart served as Co-CIO at Citigroup, where he led global technology infrastructure and AI initiatives, following earlier senior tech roles at Deutsche Bank and in management consulting. He holds a bachelor’s degree in software engineering management from Bournemouth University. In addition to his CIO role, he serves on the board of Quantexa, the AI-driven Decision Intelligence platform provider.
