Dr. Asavathiratham became SCB's SEVP and Chief Data Officer in April 2020. He brings vast experience from leading companies, locally and internationally. Before SCB, he held the position of Chief Research Officer at WorldQuant, overseeing research teams and data scientists across 14 countries. Additionally, he worked as a Portfolio Manager at Merrill Lynch in New York and Sun Trading in Chicago, focusing on quantitative trading. He also served as a Management Consultant at McKinsey & Company in Bangkok and London, and as an Analytics Engineer at Pivotal Systems Corporation. Dr. Asavathiratham earned his undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate degrees in electrical engineering and computer science at MIT, USA, receiving a King's Scholarship for his academic achievements.
