Mr. Steven Umlauf

Steven Umlauf holds the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Risk Officer at State Street, where he is a key member of the executive management team overseeing Enterprise Risk Management and Compliance. Responsible for various senior risk committees, Umlauf and his team provide second-line oversight for State Street Global Markets, Corporate Treasury, Global Credit Finance, and Capital Management globally, including risk modeling and analytics. Prior to joining State Street, Umlauf held roles at Citigroup, where he served as Head of Model Risk Management and later as Chief Risk Officer for Finance. He also led the Investment Analytics function at AIG and held various positions at Morgan Stanley, including Chief Risk Officer of Merchant Banking and head of Capital Markets in Tokyo. Before his career in finance, Umlauf was an Assistant Professor of Finance at London Business School and holds a doctorate in applied economics from MIT and a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Duke University.
