Ljiljana Čortan, born in Croatia in 1971, commenced her career in 1996 at Zagrebacka banka, later integrated into Unicredit Group. Throughout her tenure at Zagrebacka, she held various roles encompassing risk management, corporate banking, and project/information management. Transitioning within Unicredit, she assumed leadership roles, including Head of Strategy and Marketing for corporate and investment banking in the CEE region. From 2014 to 2017, she served as Global Head of Financial Institutions, Banks, and Sovereigns, followed by Head of Group Credit Transactions in Milan. In 2018, she assumed her current role as a member of the Management Board and Chief Risk Officer at HypoVereinsbank - UniCredit Bank in Germany. Čortan holds a Master’s degree in Business Finance from the University of Zagreb.
