Ashwini Tewari, a seasoned banker with over 30 years of experience, excels in driving both top and bottom-line growth, managing risk and compliance, and overseeing stressed assets. Currently serving as the Managing Director of Corporate Banking and Subsidiaries at State Bank of India (SBI), he is also a whole-time director on the bank's Board. Previously, he held the position of Managing Director (Risk, Compliance, and Stressed Assets) at the bank, where he implemented innovative strategies for recovery and led the climate risk and finance function. With extensive experience both domestically and internationally, including roles as Managing Director of International Banking, Technology & Subsidiaries, CEO of SBI Card, and Country Head of US Operations for SBI, he has also served on various boards within the SBI group and industry associations. Certified as an Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB) and a Certified Financial Planner (CFP), he is passionate about driving innovation, sustainability, and customer-centricity in the banking sector, evident in his certification in climate finance from edX.
